Better strategy to win scratch off lottery tickets?

I'll say this as nicely as I can.

The Lottery is a tax on those who are less skilled in math.
It is however a thrill of an idea for some for $1 - x .

I won $1000 on my first tri state Megabucks ticket at age 18 now 50. A lot of money then. I occasionally play that game or power ball when insanely large and feel ahead.

Yes, it is nonsense. Each drawing is an independent event and every number has the same chance of being drawn as any other number.
Op was talking about the scratch tickets who have a 3 digit number on the bottom. But yes draw tickets are just as you described.

Great topic.

Lets’s be honest. If God wants you to win the lottery, shouldn’t you just need one ticket?

What works for me is my local yocal country gas station needs proceeds from lottery tickets sales to survive. I buy one $6 Lotto Max ticket every time I fuel the Burb, which costs over $100. It’s like an extra 6% tax on my gas. The gasoline price fluctuation is more than that. It’s in the noise for me.

Here’s the Lotto Max layout. Someone out east won $31,000,000 yesterday. There was a poll done some time ago if folks would rather have 30 prizes of $1 million or 1 prize of $30 million. Hands down it was one prize of $30 mil. Lottery players are greedy buggers.

One guy buys one $1 ticket.
Another guy buys one million $1 tickets.
Who wins?
The numbers show neither.

As someone who had done years of work calculating and honing statistical models, you would be surprised just how dead nuts the results get to be. You can't win.

By the way, the casinos and lotto runners LOVE IT when somebody cashes in. Best advertising, by a long shot.
Good luck...

Sell everything you own and start buying lottery tickets and hope you win the big one before the money runs out.
That's not a strategy that's addiction. I know this a sarcasm but sadly people do that... It is ok to bet on something, if you are afford to lose.

I only play if there's an office pool. My luck if I don't participate they'll win and I'll be the only one there Monday morning.

Another popular one in Canada is 6-49 where the ticket price is less than Lotto max but the prizes are less. A million would me nice. No need to get greedy. Here is a list of winners in BC with a much greater chance of knowing someone who won.

I had a family member who won $10k once on a scratch ticket. She was elated and said things like 'my time has come' and continued to play the lottery because 'someone has to win it'

She may have won $10k but she spend tens of thousands of dollars over the years playing the lottery in various forms. At least $30k before winning the $10k.

The only strategy I am aware of was from several years ago and was due to an oversight when creating the game. Interesting story, really.

I posted this on the previous page, there is a FANTASTIC MOVIE about this story, all true, real names, real town and real company that he retired from.
I suspect you will find it a great movie. BTW - those loop holes have been closed now so dont get any ideas even if you think you can do it.;)
The "old" retired guy was a genius.
