Baldwin BT839 Transmission Filter

C&P of a Baldwin BT839. Application was a Ford F250 with a 6 speed manual transmission. Service period unknown, estimated 4 years and 20k miles. A Donaldson replaced it.

Might be hard to see in the pictures but there is quite a bit of debris in the bottom of the can.

I didn't change the fluid, other than topping the new filter off to avoid a fluid level drop.

The new filter is a Donaldson P560694. Trans is filled with amsoil signature ATF.

Looks like it did it's job on this F250. I see the debris you mentioned & it doesn't show up here has black in color since it's not like soot from an oil filter. Do you know how much this truck tows regularly?

Not a lot, but when towing it is heavy. The heaviest load it saw in that time period was just under 20k pounds. I would estimate that approximately 85% of those miles were unloaded.

Thanks for the details & I'll guess this is a 99-03 aftermarket filter addition or a 03-07 6.0L in factory location?
