B&S Powered PW just dodged bullet

My neighbors are getting their house painted and the painters were out today PW the house. Didn't hear the PW's running for a while so I look out and see them trying over to start the B&S powered PW. They tried unsuccessful for 5+ min. Finally it started and ran horrible for another 5 min with massive smoke bellowing out. I thought for sure the engine was scrapped but somehow after running it full speed for 15 min it seems to be running fine now. Looks like they also have a honda powered one in the background.

First pic was after the smoke was dying down and sorry for the slight blur my camera focused in on the palm leaf last second.

After a good 15 min running full bore....

They more the likely had it tipped in the van they work out of. Air filter is probably soaked in oil. Tisk Tisk.

I actually don't think that is the case because I'm 100% they were using it earlier. Maybe the guy pulled the hose and tipped it over.
