I have a 1989 Toyota truck with a 3VZ-E V6 engine. It has 320K of milage on it.I have been using Castrol 20-50 Dino and burn 1 quart every 3K.Oil changes are every 3k also. This motor has never been apart.Would Auto RX help this engine or should I just leave it alone. Is there anything else that I should consider doing to clean it out. This model and year has been flagged as a gross polluter in California and I must take it to a smog test only station which is very strict. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

1 quart in 3000 miles is very good for that mileage and age. You shouldn't have a problem with the test. I would stick with your current regimine and not change a thing.

Daily Drives:
-2003 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner XtraCab, 2.7 Liter , Mobil1 Synthetic SS 5w30.
ODO 8900 Miles.
-1995 Toyota 4-Runner 3.0 V6, Mobil1 Synthetic SS 10w30.
ODO 90800 Miles.

I had a friend that knows more than me about engines tell me to run a full tank of a heavy dose of fuel injector cleaner, like Techron, at high speeds then refill tank and go get the test done. He claims that with no other maintenance that most cars will pass with this method. Worth a try I'd say.

Amkeer,

He burns a qt/3000k miles with 20w-50. I would auto-rx the engine twice with 15w40 diesel oil like delo or delvac 1300
