I would not use what amounts to an API licensed oil in a nice Mercedes. This oil carries no Mercedes-Benz approvals nor does it claim to be suitable for any.Mercedes m class
No.Mercedes m class
oh hell no I would not use that in my MB, if I had one. Not worth the timeView attachment 178012
It does have license
I believe that to be another wives tale. I have ran all sorts of " car" oils in my bikes and ATVs and never had a clutch slip.It should work fine in a car, the difference is you don't want to use car oil in an ATV since it contains additives that will make a wet clutch system slip.
good point, perhaps a 1999 would be fine. did not realize age and typeWhat is so particular about a 1999 Mercedes that mere API certified oil won’t be suitable? Do you guys think people with most Mercedes’ of this vintage aren’t just going to the cheapest quick-lube shop in town and getting cheap bulk whatever oil?
What is to be gained by using quickie lube shop/API/ATV oil in this car? What is so particular about a 1999 Mercedes that mere API certified oil won’t be suitable?
