First, I am not a fan of asymmetrical tires. I can't think of a scenario where having an asymmetrical tire gives an advantage that can't be achieved by other means.

That said, IF there actually is an advantage to asymmetrical tires, reversing them on one side would cause a detriment on that side.


Imagine a application where you want to have more rubber on the outside of the pattern than the inside, for example. This is often the case with asymmetric patterns, directional or non-directional. Reversing rolling direction by moving them to the other side of the vehicle won't hurt anything. If you mean reversing them on the wheel, that would be different, as then the additional rubber would be on the inside of the pattern, relative to the vehicle.
