Are You Getting What You Paid For At The Gas Pump

I've only double checked a gas pump a few times before but today i checked one that was $3.29 and found they charged me $4.29 a gallon . I went in and got a $7 refund . How often has that happened to you ?

How could they charge you $4.29 when the pump says $3.29? Isn't the total calculated automatically by the pump based on $3.29? Are you saying there is a fault in the electronics?

Time to report the discrepancy to your state's Attorney General who will get the weights and measures office of the Dept. of Agriculture involved. It can result in huge fines for the gas station owner if they determine it involves fraudulent calibration of the pump.

For a very brief time I worked as a gas station checker and the price on the street sign showed a cheaper price with fine print that said "with the purchase of a car wash".

I had to refund people all day because they got baited. To this day, I still think that sign and pricing scheme is the same.

2.97 for regular on my recent drive thru South (I think) Carolina.
Florida is maybe 10% more.

2.52 at the costco a few days ago. Could and should be cheaper still but it's not the worst. I miss paying 1.44 just a few years ago.
