I own a 6.5" Taurus Judge. I just got it back from factory for
a second repair. Opnion about this gun? IT'S GREAT! In spite
of the two repairs, I hope this is the last. The revolver is
great fun to shoot - espcially shotshells, slugs and 000 buck.
Kicks harder than 45 colt cartridge, but that taurus ribber
grip is the best in the world for soaking up recoil.
In all honesty, I'm unhappy with the Winchester and especially
Federal Premium Defense shotshells. Pattern is horrible a 7
yards. The Federal 1/4 oz slugs are the most accurate of all. My favorite shotshells are Remington. The #4's (Long Range
Express) are ok, I haven't reached a verdict yet but they will print on target at 10 yards. The #6 Game Load, on the otherhand, may be the best at least at 7 yards. I assure you it would not be good to be shot in the face. I do have to try
them further. 45 colt loads, it's not unusual to hit a bulls-
eye at 7/10 yrds. No, the gun isn't a tack driver, but believe
me, it will get the job done for whatever purpose - The patterns
group so well!!!!! You'll hit what u're shooting at.
I got revolver because of back, neck problems. Even if it
doesn't turn out to be the small game getter I think it will
be, it will be great on deer, hogs and whatever a standard
45 colt cartridge will handle. A Corbon Engineer informed
me they test +P 45 colt cartridges with the Judge daily.
While it's not a good idea to fire thousands of rounds of +P,
it can be safey done with limited according to engineer.
With that in mind, I could go where so pretty big bad animals are and if I a Judge was the only handgun available and probably protect myself with +P 45 Colt Ammon.
