No problem, Tempest. We'll just sell them more of our ethanol. (Better yet, let them have all of it!)

That is quite the puff piece by the ethanol industry. Hardly a mention that it takes massive subsidies to make the industry work.

The world’s thirst for American ethanol is a tribute to the biofuel’s high quality and affordable price.

I hope everyone enjoys subsidizing other countries' energy prices with our tax dollars...

FWIW, I too thought ALL gas HAD to have SOME Ethanol in it. (As per The Feds. Same way they say 87 Gas HAS to be 87, 89, 92, etc etc, I thought they mandated ALL Fuel had to have up to 10% varying by Summer and Winter, more in Winter due to Volatility, and that "Pure gas" was a LIE.)

That said, there is a list. No idea how they get their info, and I would have to ask:

If a Gas station SAYS their gas is not Ethanol at all, how would you know? Because they said so?

I cant think of a UOA for Gasoline. Or UGA.

Unless your car runs that much better on Gas with no Ethanol, that you know. Via the Butt Dyno.

And to poster that said "The Days are Numbered.." .. I thought the days of Ethanol-free Gas never existed. For some years. 2000s-on.

You can get a test kit. You can tell by specific gravity if it contains ethanol.

To the best of my knowledge if you are in a low pollution area you can still sell G100. I forget how the EPA categorizes this.

G100, love it!

A link showing the EPA required and opt-in areas.
NOTE: E10 is sold in a lot of places where not required, due to mandated blending quotas and state laws.

For something that the price generally goes up anyways a reduction in costs only produces a little pause in how fast it goes up. It will take a lot more than a little hooch to return us to the 1999 days of cheap fuel.

Any places other than Rhoades Service Center? My last trip to Albany, I saw the prices posted at Rhoades ($3.22 regular) and ended up going to Cumberland Farms to fill up on E10 ($2.71).

Reality: E10 and E15 can be made to run just fine in nearly all equipment with computer tuning, re-jetting of lawn equipment, boats, etc as required. There is a fairly large group of pilots who use E-10 with excellent results. Remember, aircraft have adjustable mixtures and can easily compensate for differing fuel flow requirements (jetting).

Other Reality: E10 and E15 is not a "drop in replacement" for conventional gasoline.

More facts: Ethanol content varies. Your station may not have the full 10% ethanol. Stations in my area hover just below 5% in actuality. This makes tuning small engines difficult. As the "jetting" issues become a moving target.

My 7 year old Polaris 330 trail boss 4 wheeler, for example won't start and run when cold on E-5 (labeled E-10). It takes hand manipulation of the choke/throttle to keep it running and that aint easy. Yet, Avgas runs perfectly. Starts and runs like it should, every time.

My 2003 Jaguar X-Type gets a check engine light on gas that has a full 10% ethanol content. The computer cannot compensate. I really need to re-program the computer for a 3% richer mixture. The O2 sensor downstream of the cat is the one that "squawks" with the use of too much ethanol. Plus, the car clearly does not run cleanly with too much ethanol.

On the other hand, my 2009 "flex fuel" F150 4x4 runs just fine on any gas.

My owner's manual state's that I'll void the warranty if I use any ethanol blend fuel. That's all I need to know. The EPA can suck it.

BTW a lot of places are popping up that sell "boat gas" which is ethanol free.
