What can this oil do better then Mobil 1 0W-40 for $5.19 a quart and Castrol Edge 0W-40 for $4.19 a quart at Wallyworld?

I don't know who would spend $72 for oil for an oil change. This is from the Amsoil site, price for 5 quarts with tax and shipping. Ridiculous.

Better shear stability probably (amsoil has good shear stable oils), and a long drain interval additive pack.

Where I live, Amsoil is barely more expensive, that is when everything else is on sale, Amsoil is cheaper than the other top tier synthetic oils, Mobil EP, AFE, Pennzoil PP, Castrol EDGE, etc, when not on sale.

Your little post is when you don't have a membership, quite a bit cheaper when you are a PC, and you buy locally from a dealer.

Most likely nothing.

It should be noted that it can be had slightly cheaper with prefer customer discount. Ordering SSO through Pablo was $8.15 a quart last I checked.

M1 0w-40 is shear stable. It's also designed for long drain intervals since it meets the Euro mfg long life specs.

I have no doubt this Amsoil 0w-40 is a great oil. I just don't think that it's better than those other two. Between the three, I'd buy based on price. Unless of course I needed official approvals for warranty purposes, in which case this Amsoil would be out.
