As @MattPersman mentioned, .498 is not always the ticket. It's a bit like always having 3/4" drive or taking the CCLB F350 to the corner store.

OTOH if you live in the rust belt or figure anytime you grab the air hammer you wanna just tear s##& up, then yeah, grip and rip it!

Very true, when you routinely deal with crap like this the more power you can put on it the better. I got this one out with an Astro puller but on some others you have to beat them out and they have the same amount of rust or worse.
