Somehow, I'm with you on this one.

I’m also a owner of the 3.0l
Ill keep checking in with UOAs at 5k. I will be switching to esp x2 in the near future since I’ve read good things. I suppose I’m mostly watching For fuel dilution and soot my last UOA posted today was all winter and 20% more idle time than normal and it wasnt an issue.. don’t get me wrong if they opted in a heavier spec oil for summer I would run it. Time Will Tell!

If, big if, the engine was designed from the beginning to use a 20 wgt oil because of tolerances and clearances, then a jump to a 40 wgt may be a bridge too far. If I owned one I'd consider a 0w-30, or 5w-30 C3 and probably limit the OCI to no more than 7,000 miles. Being a big M1 ESP fan I'd probably go with that.
