There's been all kind of mention here at Bitog, that Castrol's base oils are far-from-superb. But if you desire the brand name, then that's your decision.
I do like Castrol's add-packs in SN Plus. They made big changes to Dexos add-pack formulas, so I bought an Edge jug to use. When I replaced it with Valvoline Advanced, I immediately knew Advanced serves Dexos GDI-engines better.
My engines used to be loaded with varnish throughout. the 90s. That's when I used Castrol. A superb oil?...... I keep trying it every once in a while. But I never buy two OCIs of Castrol in a row.
Final product is only thing that matters!
