I wonder if they still have the 8 qt sump, or if they went back to 6 qts.

My son has a 2016 Yukon with 65K. He does 10-12K OCIs with M1 0-20EP, engine uses almost no oil, performs and sounds very well, and lives in Florida if that matters.

My concern is towing a 8000lb camper in 100° heat and using 0w20. Thats why GM went back to 5w30 with these trucks.

And if 56k miles and already using oil? Yes 0w20 is to blame i garantee it.

Who is using oil at 56k?

If you look at the viscosities at 100*C the 0W20 and 5W30s are very close. About 1 cst difference usually. This was my justification for running the 30 over the 20 in the summer. It was 107F here in southern Idaho today. In winter when its 15F ill run the rest of my 20 Weight in it. When thats gone im going to 5 or 10w30 for the rest of the time. I have only used 0W20 or 5W20 in my silverado ( 5.3 ) for the first 95,000 miles and it uses no oil between OCIs (Usualy Ive done 6-7500 miles). Oil pressure is about the exact same on the dash between 5W30 and 5W20 FWIW.
