If you really like/want the FJ don't be afraid of the price of one. They're going to retain their value, keep it nice and you'll do well when you sell it. Buying something in the same category but cheaper isn't the same.
Crazy-high price. I'd never pay that kind of money for one.

They will probably get that price and if willing to haggle, will probably sell for at least above $30K.
FJ Cruisers have one of the highest resale values out there. Traded in my wife's 2010 FJ late last year for her Jeep Renegade and got over 75% of original sticker for trade in value for a 8 year old vehicle. It also had 27K miles on it and that helped a lot.
Clean and low miles, they sell themselves.
