yeah lol, at 15k miles total. im currently doing 5k oci's on his truck. he has 14,500 miles total. i personally would never do a 15k oci on any engine.

what would be a better filter to go with, an ACDelco or a Napa Gold? currently using napa gold.

That OCI plan in mind, you might as well buy the least expensive HDEO you can find on sale each time, because your short OCI plan is NEVER going to use the whole capability of any oil, regardless of brand/grade you select. Therefore, if peformance is not an issue, then price is. Just know that 5k mile OCIs in a Dmax is a total waste of money, no matter what oil you use. At the very least, I would suggest using the OLM, and the low-cost oil of your choice.
