2008 Nissan Rogue - looks like the CVT is toast

Sounds like it was malfunctioning. Isn't the whole premise of CVT's the ability to manage the vehicle into an optimum range for emissions and economy. Did yours have the fake shifting points too? I have no idea what a VQ is but sounds like a keeper.

The venerable vq37 very recognizable exhaust note especially uncorked.

No. 6000. He seems to think it reduces the floating bits even though it’s about 2.5 quarts. He thinks it’s more important than oil changes.

He's blowing smoke up your butts! We have several Hondas and even had a Nissan with CVT. We drain and fill the ATF or CVT every 3 years and call it good. Is he towing a boat on a trailer around every weekend?
