I have a couple of bottles of original Nissan CVT NS3 fluid that were stored in my garage in North Carolina for the last three years. Would it be safe to use them, considering they were stored in hot summer temperatures? Also, I recently purchased some Idemitsu SVTF Type N3 fluid; can I mix this with old Nissan fluid?
Is old Nissan cvt fluid still safe to use.

Three years in your garage are going to have been way easier on it than 3 years inside your transmission. I would use it without a second thought. Yes on mixing it, too.

Just shake it up in case any additives settle up the bottom.

Yep, shake it up. If you want a cheaper alternative to Nissan brand CVT fluid, then use Valvoline's CVT fluid. We got almost 220K miles on the original tranny on a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S.
