Typical Honda, low wearing engine. The oil held up very well. I drive aggressively and the car sees a few RL's a day. I had the Amsoil Eao filter on for 27k miles. Flash point was better with Amsoil than the RL. (395F vs 375F) Not that it means much coming from B/S Labs.

90% highway driving. 80+mph 2 hours a day.
1qt makeup oil
Eao oil filter 27k miles on filter.

Is the oil still in use? If so, what's your next step in this long OCI? I am wondering since this is an Amsoil product why your not using OAI whom run a few more tests for the Amsoil oil? Oil looks great, what type of filter are your using? I know....questions, questions

I changed the oil. I'll probably go 15k next time. I used B/S Labs for convenience reasons. Already had 5 sample containers.

Amsoil 0w20 is one impressive oil and couple that with a Honda and you have a marriage made in heaven. Great report man.
P.S. There is no moly in that oil and over 3000ppm of Calcium. Impressive.

Nice report, speaking of flashpoint, it means something because ---- used the same techniques to measure the Redline sample. Did you add any makeup oil with the redline?

How many miles on the air filter?

Pea soup would look good in this engine. Congrats.

What gasoline do you usually use?

What oil was the filter used for the previous 16,000 miles? Redline two intervals?

Excellent UOA!

Really is!

It is interesting to see how some trust a UOA when its a certain type/brand of oil and poo poo the same lab when its another type/brand.

Whatever..

Again Buster, Nice. I'm GLAD to see someone at least take the oil out and get some cost savings.

Proves to some people that extended OCIs DO WORK.

(but make sure you get the UOA to make SURE its working..)

Even if the UOAs can not be trusted.

Oil filter - Amsoil Eao (27k miles on it)
Gas - 89

I ran Redline for one interval and it used 3/4's qt over 7,800 miles.

Before Redline, I used Havoline DS. I only sampled RL and Amsoil. All the other oils were drained around 6k miles.

I'm staying with Amsoil. I have it in the Mazda 3 also. I'm looking at staying with 10-15k mile oil changes to make it more cost effective. So about 2 oil changes a year.

Hi Buster , when you go to sell this car dont tell anyone that you did 10,000 plus oil changes . Amsoil did good here but buyers like to hear 3,000 to 4,000 changes , will make a BIG difference in how much you can sell the car for.

I usually trade in my cars but if I were to sell it privately, I'd just mention that I used synthetic oil. I've done that in the past and people were glad to know that high quality oil was used.

I'm not 100% trustworthy of OEM drain interval recommendations although the new OLM's seem fairly accurate.

For this particular engine, 10k miles under normal conditions is the recommended drain interval using conventional oil. With my driving style, and for peace of m mind, I don't mind spending a few more $'s on a better oil. Oil is cheap and it's not going to break the bank.

I agree, the uneducated will balk at 10k syn oci. I don't sell privately until the car is used up. but if I did, I would say the same as well.
