Stopped into Honda of Princeton today. They had a 1972 Civic. I think the guy paid $80k for it. 2 cylinder engine. Manual. Very small car, especially to an American.

MSRP in 1972: $1,543.00.

I learned to drive with the next model, the first generation Civic (a 1978), 4 speed manual. Driving down the freeway in top gear at 60 mph you would swear the engine was about to explode.
It was reliable for its time, but didn't last too long. At about 90k it suffered some kind of major engine failure.

Yep, that's a 600.
We had a '76 Civic 1500 and found it to be really fun to drive, reliable and durable.
It was pretty prone to rust, though.
I'd not mind a nice old Civic as a good weather fun car although even a Mirage would annihilate one in a collision.
