Owner drives "spirited" with 70% highway, 30% stop/go, temp range around 50-65F, 6 qt sump.

Cylinder sleeves and camshafts iron, main/rod bearings alumnium.

Vehicle is modified with an Air/Fuel tuning system which makes use of an oversized intake, with a K&N style filter (Cold Air from the fenderwell), outputing 20 whp and 20ft/lbs over a stock vehicle.

It would be interesting to see this vehicle run anything other than Mobil-1 to find out if the iron number comes down or not.

The millitec combines the metal starting at 80°C and makes a skin over the metal witch decreases the surface roughnes.(magic

My friend put it on his Nissan Sunny 1997 driven 50km,put 2 ounces of millitec per liter of oil(10-40 SAE Esso oil),the idle droped from 1000rpm to 870rpm,gas milerage droped from 27 to 32 city, are there any similar oil addictives i know about Prolong, any other better then millitec and prolong

Thanks Crossbow. The silicon is hard to read because the engine was new but the #s coming down nicely. Have you let the filter dirty up a bit to work better?

Maybe I missed it but is this the 4 or 6 cylinder engine? Except for the iron and the copper, to some degree, appear higher though the UOA looks good over all. Most likely the CAI with the K&N is causing the higher iron numbers. Not sure why or where the copper is coming from, bronze parts or copper lines

? 7,600 miles doesn't seem like a lot of miles for a Mobil 1 oil but then again it appears this car was "driven" hard

. This possibly "wore" the oil out

. Just curious, was this an auto or stick vehicle?

Whimsey, you're 100% right. The AW additives in this oil are worn out, in comparison to the VOA. The Zn, P, Mo, are examples of this.

They are less than 75% of the original amount, which is telling you that they are worn out.

Take a look at other UOAs posted here and you'll notice that the add packs are often >75% of their original amount. (Check buster's 10K run of M1 EP)

Michael

How are you guy's getting 75%?
dunno.gif
No way is it 75%. 25% is more like it for ZDDP(VOA 950ppm SL) and 50% for Boron (VOA 230ppm), 30% for Ca.(VOA 3,000 ppm)

These are approximations of the SL 0w-20. Could be off somewhat.
