I just got this from Blackstone. The oil was in service for 11 months. The truck is started about every 2 weeks and run for 15 mins or so. Any input would be apperciated. Thanks guys. The universal averages are on the right.

OIL USE INTERVAL: 2,940 Miles
OIL TYPE & GRADE: Royal Purple 5w30
MAKE-UP OIL ADDED: 0 qts

JASON: This oil sample shows that your Tundra's engine is running well at 71,641 miles. All wear
metal readings were well within the average range. Universal averages are based on a 5700-mile oil
use in this engine type. The TBN reading was 5.6, showing active additive remaining. 1.0 is low. We
did not find any moisture or anti-freeze in this sample. The oil viscosity was fine for Royal Purple's
5w30 oil. The low flashpoint shows a minor trace of fuel, but this is not a concern. We suggest trying
4000 miles for your next oil change. The engine can take it, regardless of months.

Hopefully that looks a little better...

Great low metals for 11 months!

Oil did thin to 9.47cSt@100°C. Starts at 10.5 or so as I recall. This is trademark for RP, but your fuel may be higher than a trace. You should send a sample to Terry next go around. Insolubles seem a might high.

Lead was high for only 3k miles, but oil use was 11 months. These engines don't seem to like oil changes past about 6 months. Lead may improve if you change it a little sooner. Look up Jack Burton's posts for more RP runs in a Tundra.

UOA looks excellent. Feel free to run this oil an entire year. Sorry, but I believe oil should be replaced every year regardless of low mileage.

Insolubles are a little high for mileage. What oil filter?
Si is also high, what air filter and how old is it?

10w30 might be a better choice in Florida.

Replace the air filter.

Use an FL400s or FL1a sized oil filter.

I have seen people recommend the Motorcraft FL400S or FL1a filters but keep in mind that these are not supported by Motorcraft for the Tundra. If for some reason the filter crapped out and you pumped all the oil out of the engine and seized it, neither Motorcraft nor Toyota will be sympathetic.

I use the stock toyota oil filter and I currently have a k&n air filter........I know I know, I have heard so much negitive things about k&n so I either want to switch back to the stock toyota air filter or try a wix brand air filter. Both I have heard were good. Ill check into the motorcraft filters. What do you think about wix air filter?

those motorcraft filters............. are they larger so they can hold more oil or do they have more paper in them and filter better?

The k&n filter only have about 2K on it. I pulled it out the other day and it looks spotless. Still pink/red, not a bit of dirt that I can see.

No dirt in KN because most is getting by. Just kidding. Mileage is low for Si level. So, some dust is getting by. Just about ANY airfilter will do better but will cost you that 2hp that the KN is giving you. I'd grab an airfilter from Wix, Fram, Purolator, or one of their clones.

Motorcraft filters are excellent for the money. And, you can upsize if you want more filtration and oil capacity.
Since your insolubles are high for the mileage, you will benefit from better filtration.

Tones, I don't care for what is recommended. And, even OE filters can ---- out. I don't see why there are those that always try to 'scare' any potential upgrade.

I think I can guess what you had in mind. True, OE filters can fail but they are backed by Toyota and you would get a full warranty on the part and damage it caused.

Just telling it like it is. Its easy for people to make all kinds of recommendations in these forums and never have to give it another thought. I like the Motorcraft filters also so I emailed Motorcraft and asked them. I welcome you to do the same. Fact is, the OE filter will do a superb job and protect your investment. I don't see why anyone would take a chance with saving $2 on a filter that not even the manufacturer will support for their $20k investment.

auto-rx? I looked inside my valve covers the other day because of all the known toyota engine sludge problems from the past and the inside of the head looks like silver alumium. There is not one ounce of sludge or varnish anywhere in sight. This truck has been babied. I have run synthetic oil (royal purple) in the truck since 2,880 miles and when I bought the truck (it had 34 miles on it) I changed the oil and filter (5w30 castrol dino and OEM filter) 3 times w/in the first 2880 miles. How would I benifit from an auto-rx treatment? Just curious.
