Pull Ignition Fuse or Fuel Pump Fuse to build Oil Pressure?

Nearly everyone worries about a dry start after an oil change, to avoid it, we prefill the oil filter and would like to crank the engine over until oil pressure builds up. But, if stopping fuel isn't possible while cranking, is pulling the ignition fuse to keep the spark plugs from firing...

Latest numbers on the left using M1 5w30 and oem oil/air filter, just over 49k on the car. Seems like the wear numbers went up a decent amount this interval, but still are pretty good. Refilled it with M1 5w30 again and will see how it holds up after 8k mi. Looks like the 10w30 may work a bit...

    '04 Subaru WRX Mobil1 5w30, 6400mi

Posting this here, found it over on NASIOC. The car has about 15k miles on the clock and about half-way into this interval (3k mi) the ECU was reflashed for more power, but this resulted in some pinging. Air filter is stock. Elements with ** indicate higher than average wear metals. Format =...

    M1 5w30 3500mi Subaru WRX 2.0t

I pulled this report off of NASIOC. Left column is last result for 3500mi. The right column is the last interval, between 3000-3500mi. Total 17500mi on the engine. Lead is abnormally high for a WRX engine, not sure what to think of it. Car is stock. ? marks unknown data. What could be causing...

Schaeffers Moly E.P. Oil Treatment #132?

My Subaru WRX's transaxle's synchros could use some help. The tranny in these cars is notorious for being notchy. I've heard that Schaeffer's #132 will help the synchros grab better with good EP properties. Sounds like the perfect match for the WRX's transaxle fluid which houses the tranny and...

    Cross/half threaded SDF20 on Subaru

Somehow, I managed to cross or half thread the Amsoil SDF20 on my WRX while installing the filter today. It started threading on normally for about a turn, then became tough to turn. I backed it off and tried again a couple more times with the same results. Looking at the threads on the filter...

Should I try a different oil next in my WRX?

You can see my last results here: 2003 Subaru WRX 2.0t, 7,247mi Mobil1 5w30 I'm thinking about trying another oil besides M1, namely RedLine or Amsoil. But I'm having a hard time justifying paying more than twice as much for those oils vs M1, especially when M1 is obviously working very well...

    ? dino 5w-30 4500 miles '95 Honda Civic, 1.6l

Results look outstanding. Last change was performed at dealer using unknown brand of 5w-30 dino oil. Refilled with 5w-30 Mobil1 and will run out to 6000 miles for another analysis. Only thing I can think of which might have caused these low readings was that the engine had sat overnight before...

Civic tranny calls for 10w30 motor oil, what should I use?

I'm going to be swapping out the fluid in a manual tranny '95 Civic soon, the manual calls for 10w30 motor oil (which I thought was strange). Should I go ahead and put in my favorite synthetic motor oil, or is there a better alternative?
