This is what happens when you fill the engine with washer fluid

That picture has been around a few years. Crazy stuff. I shared a few years ago that in my Navy days, we had a young sailor that was heading home for Christmas and remarked before leaving the ship that his oil was low (someone told him how to check it.) He was broke, so added water in parking...

HYUNDAI recalls 13,511 vehicles : Elantra , Kona

Yeah, Ford is the worst. By a long shot. Had like 7 on my Ford Escape before it even hit 10K. On the Ford Fusion (disaster of a car) probably had 5 before 10K. Fleet vehicles, no way I would ever buy a Ford. Until the newer engines show some reliability, won't buy a Hyundai again either.

    New PUROLATOR Premium oil filter

IMHO, that bypass valve would NOT stick open like that in actual use in an engine.

Oil filter gasket.....Oh no you didn't!

Absolutely. I say all this joking around, it really makes no difference as long as it is lubricated. I always wipe down everything squeaky clean. Lubrication is the most important thing. I used to fill oil filters before install, but haven't done it in a while for the same reason. I'm...

Oil filter gasket.....Oh no you didn't!

So, Dirty little secret. You know how you have to put oil on filter gasket before you spin it on? Well, I do that, but.......... shhhhhhhhhh I never have clean oil under car with me, so i dip my gloved finger into the drain pan and smear a drop of the old oil on gasket, then spin it on...

    HM oil in newer car?

My company maintains a fleet of thousands of vehicles. When a car is brand new, and factory fill gets dumped, in goes Valvoline Maxlife HM. Every car/truck. No issues I know of. They have been doing that longer than the 12 years I have been with them.

    Valvoline VO-88 C&P

Filter looks good, but they put a jobber filter on at the deallership and not an OEM? Can't say I have ever heard of that happening. However, a few years ago, I did see the KIA dealership pouring O'Reilly house brand coolant into a car. so....anything is possible.

    Reusing Filters

Diesel fuel would cost more than the filter....so...no. Oil filters are cheap overall. Why bother?

whats going on with super tech??

Wow. Nice filter for $2.97. Not sure how they make any money at all on that, especially these days.

Completely done with Fram products from here on out.

If it's not sealed, I always do an open/inspect. That would have been caught right away.
