    Fluid Film undercoating and alternatives

Hey all...I recently moved to Northeastern Ohio from Southeastern Pennsylvania and am astounded at the excessive use of road salt here. Back home in PA, we wouldn't have used half as much salt. Here they started salting the roads a week before a single flake dropped. No wonder everybody's...

Battle of the 18v tool sets

I really like my Milwaukee M18 Lithium tools. I bought a drill/impact kit about a year ago, and also a circular saw and an extra battery. Keep a sharp blade on the saw and it's great. The drill and impact driver are both awesome...I like the metal chuck on the drill. Batteries last a long time...

    Best Way to Keep Wrenches

I like the cheap metal socket rails from Harbor freight...I buy them in bulk so when they get bent or full or I need more clips, I have them. I think they're less than $2 depending on size. For my wrenches, I use these: http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-14-po...mp;blockType=G1 I actually...

    Power Tools - Any Recs?

I love my Milwaukee M18 Lithium tools. What kind of work do you want to be doing? Wrenches still have their place in many regards, even when one owns great power tools. If you're just looking for something to speed up screwing/unscrewing, try a 12V cordless drill. Most of the big brands are...

    Air hose recommendation

3/8 The yellow Goodyear are what I have now. I love U.S. made products...will almost always choose that over import, andI'm happy with these for the most part, but I detest the sticky grossness they get in cold weather. I would like something equally flexible or better, as well.

    Air hose recommendation

OK, so it's getting cold and my rubber air hoses will soon be sticky and disgusting. I'm not particularly fond of their unwillingness to lay flat either, so I think I'll try a new one. I had a short length of this stuff called "Nextrile" which is awesome, but when I asked about it at the shop...

    New Wrench Set

Sounds like a good enough deal. I almost bought some metric Craftsman Pro wrenches a while ago, but I went with SK. If you like good, USA made tools but aren't a mechanic, check out SK. They are more expensive than standard Craftsman (their "pro" was actually about even) but not near the price...

Looking for a LONG handled ratchet

I use a cheater pipe with my breaker bar if I want leverage, but I don't like it flopping around when using a ratchet. Originally Posted By: stephen9666 http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213009 This is a good deal on the awesome Armstrong Maxx locking flex ratchet. It's...

Looking for a LONG handled ratchet

Hi, I'm looking for a USA made long handled ratchet...around 2 feet in length, 1/2" drive. My friend has a MAC that I really like, but I think one of those will cost more than I want to pay however, I am open to all ideas. Thanks...

    Oil for Chonda 6.5 hp

I have an older Baja with the 6.5 Chonda. I run Amsoil Heavy Duty 15W40 and ride the snot out of it! Probably not necessary I know, but why not? To give you some perspective...my friend and I ride these so hard that we've snapped and repaired his frame twice in different spots, and the Chonda...

I typically do run 5000 OCIs. I got the truck at 127ish, so I did two 4000 runs to get it to where I would change it at a 5 or 10 interval on the odometer.

"Copper and lead read high in this first sample from your Expedition. Copper can be from any brass/bronze parts, but considering lead is also reading high, we suspect the copper and lead together show bearing wear. Watch for things like poor oil pressure to help pinpoint a problem. Other metals...

    "Jellyfish" in my oil pan

Thanks everyone. I do intend to run Rotella T-1. I found a filter that fits it at NAPA (7011), is that right? It had the same (NAPA) one on it when I got ahold of it. An interesting filter, by the way. I cut it open and intend to show everyone in the filters forum. Originally Posted By: Noey...
