First time using a battery powered lawnmower

I've got a Ryobi 21", 40 volt mower. Gotta admit, I'm impressed. my yard takes an hour to mow - perhaps 10 mins longer with this one (the self-propel is not as fast as my Toro/Honda). It is certainly quieter than a gas mower. It takes both batteries to complete the yard.

2017 Chevy Trax Differential/transfer case fluid type?

I agree - it appears that the rear differential is 75W90 gear lube.

    Intermittant brake failure

It's a relative's car. It's far away I don't know the service history. She has always taken it to the Toyota dealer for EVERYTHING - except the first few shop visits for this brake problem - because she was afraid to drive it very far.

    Intermittant brake failure

No loss of fluid. One shop said "all is well". 2nd shop replaced rear disc brakes and rotors. (this would not cause intermittant brake failure) The Toyota dealer wants to replace the front pads - they're at 50%. Once again, this wont cause failure. The last incident driver was pulling into a...

    Intermittant brake failure

I'm guessing the M/C, or user error. I'm more inclined to think it's the MC. The Toyota dealer is "refusing" to replace it. ?!?!?!?! They say this one is working and they've never replaced one. I say that the risk is too great. And what's the harm of replacing the MC? I would have replaced it...

    Intermittant brake failure

4 instances of brake failure in the last 3 months. Pedal goes to the floor with no braking. 2009 RAV4. Three different shops have looked at the car - each one reporting that all is good. Currently it's at a Toyota dealer. I have two theories - but I'll hold off until some people weigh in. Unless...

    Considering replacement vehicle. Help.

There are some tech details on the VW 1.5 on motor reviewer. While it's alot like the 1.4, it's a fun read. Can't go wrong with a Camry - albeit mine was a 2001 and very boring.

    Inner tube differences?

HF should be fine for your application. I sometimes notice that cheap tubes are easy to damage when installing. (at least for me) However, I only use Michelin tubes ($90) on airplanes...

I ruined the driveshaft center bearing support by storing an Escape on blocks with the rear suspension hanging.

I put my son's 2010 Escape up on blocks for the winter. The suspension back there has limited lift points, so I let the suspension hang. I wont do that again! The car now has a vibration above 50 since the rubber bearing support is deformed. Ok, I fixed the problem already - but look out!

How do we feel about the Bosch QuietCast pads?

I've used Bosch quietcast pads several times. I'm happy with them and recommend them.

VW ATF part II: 3309 vs. LV

A couple months back I asked the group which flavor of ATF to use in my 2018 Jetta auto trans code QPA. Most stated that it should use LV fluid, like the VW fluid with the part number ending in 540. After going to two different dealers, and one online store, with my VIN, they indicated that I...

Odd oil change procedure per alleged Subaru TSB is you use one of their substitute filters

I just did the first oil change on our Crosstrek - so this caught my interest. I did notice that the original oil filter was completely empty when I removed it.

Odd oil change procedure per alleged Subaru TSB is you use one of their substitute filters

Just search Subaru TSB 02-191-22. I would have attached it but I'm not up to date on any rules regarding attachments.

Odd oil change procedure per alleged Subaru TSB is you use one of their substitute filters

Supposedly Subaru is having difficulty stocking certain oil filters and lists substitutes in TSB 02-191-22 If you use the substitute filter, they recommend that you: 1) Change the oil but not the filter 2) Rev the engine several times 3) Change the oil again and this time the filter What are...
