    Pics - MG Coolant Bypass Install - 2002 F150

They have them at NAPA auto parts. Same part number. However, there is a better, more sturdy version if you have them look it up for a dollar or so more. Well worth it.

Motor Guard users, what about the short rolls of

I purchased some of the Scott rolls at Sam's Club this past week. Yes, indeed, they are short. The center tube is larger as well (the previous ones that were individually wrapped had the old style 1.5 inch center core vs. the 1.625 which is now the "norm"). So, of course I had to do a search for...

    RIP Gary Allan

Just read the entire thread. I have not been on the board for the past 3-4 months and am shocked as were many of ya'll. I agree with the Oil Filter section be re-named the "Gary Allan Filter Section" or something like that. He was that good and that informative re: oil filtration. I enjoyed...

    How many members use gloves?

Nitrile gloves. The HF ones are a little thicker and last pretty well. The ones at AA parts were thinner, more expensive, and shredded just like the latex gloves. Very disappointing. I used to go commando, but it is nice to not have to scrub and still have stains on my hands when going to...

Bypass Oil Filtration for Engine Longevity

Awaiting SteveS to chime in and state that bypass filters are a waste of time and that any engine will outlast the chassis, transmission, electrical system, etc. with proper OCI's. Awaiting dnewton3 to give an in-depth cost analysis on why a bypass filter would only be good for extending OCI's...

    IR vs. Snap-On Cordless Impact

Like I said, I was too cheap to by the snap on impact. I bought the Makita 3/8" and I love it. Small, very versatile, then I bought the 1/2" and it is more than enough for me. Takes the same battery as the 1/2" and with all that I bought, extra batteries and a drill it was about the same price...

    IR vs. Snap-On Cordless Impact

Uh, the snap-on one. Far superior. That is, if you have the money for it. I went for the Makita as the price was much more reasonable and it has served me well. However, both are overkill for suspension work. Yet, with rusted parts, overkill is needed.

Changing oil now - NEED HELP!

Just read the very good write up by Robert Aitchison. Good write up. What a pain to change the oil on a Mazda3. How do you like the car besides the extra step oil change procedure? You will be fine leaving the filter in for another run. If you are really worried about it just do a 3K OCI.

    Use your ATF dipstick, Jimmy

Check your owners manual. It should state how to check the ATF level. Usually as nthach stated. In both situations, hot or cold, it needs to be checked with the car running with the selector in park and on level ground. I like to run through reverse and drive 3-4 times with about a count of five...
