    Supertech filters: any good?

Supertec are decent filters. My 07 altima didn't like em much at start up, but seem to be fine otherwise. They are a great value. Everyone seems afraid of the E core design just cuz it's different. Read about them here: http://www.champlabs.com/content/oil-filters If there were concerns...

Pickup - Different Front/Rear Inflation PSI?

The chalk test is the way to go for conclusive results. Otherwise I would run 35 in the front and 28 to 30 in the rear. You will have less oversteer as well (handle a bit better). Bump the rear up as you add weight. I ran 45 front and 30 rear in my 96 dodge ram 4wd empty (otherwise suffer...

    Hangkook tires?

Hankook is Korean, Cooper is American. I would pay a little extra for a tire you know is great and made hear by an American company. The profits stay here and benefit every American. The Koreans (and Japanese) do not buy US goods as a general rule. Once you take a trip their you will see how...

    Your RECENT experience with Hankook.

Ok...my 2 cent rant: Hankook is Korean, Cooper is American. I would pay a little extra for a tire you know is great and made hear by an American company. The profits stay here and benefit every American. The Koreans (and Japanese) do not buy US goods as a general rule. Once you take a trip...

Oil for 2009 Subaru WRX - recommendation request

Due to the turbo, Rotella T6 5w/40 synth, or any HDO 15w/40. Given your location in Va, maybe you can run 15w/40 year round? Personally, I would run the 5w/40 but stretch the OCI to 5-6K in that car. The longer OCI would help cover the increased cost of oil while offering much better...

Switching from Mobil 1 to Mobil 5000 or 7500

As first priority, I recommend tighening the valve covers to specified torque as they may have loosened up over time. If that does not stop the leaks, it's time to pull valve covers & install new gaskets. Secondly, given your application, I would switch to Clean 5000 as it doesn't really seem...

    97 f-150 transmission

Just to clarify a little more: Yeah...I agree on shifting the tranny though all the gears after putting the normal service qty back in the clean pan (follow the manual; likely 6 qts). Intall 10qts will running in park as the trans pump will be moving the fluid in the pan into the tq converter...

Philips Crystal Vision Ultra light bulbs

I think he was saying that blue coated bulbs put out fewer lumens, which is measure of light output. The darker the color of tint, the fewer the lumens.

    97 f-150 transmission

After draining/cleaning pan & torque converter and reinstalling pan, & tq bolt, dump in 5-6 qts ATF. Start truck, and install 10qts while the truck is running so it pumps the fluid into the torque converter. Check the fluid...may have to add some. If I remember right my '97 took Dextron...

    97 f-150 transmission

Cake walk! 97F150-F150'02 Part I: Drop the pan, clean it, install new filter (make sure you get the right one), clean off gasket (don't need a new one...should be a stout metal encased rubber deal). Reinstall pan (don't over torque bolts). Part II: remove black plug from bell housing. Turn...

    SuperTech start up noise...

Decided to give a SuperTech ST7313 one more try on my '07 Nissan Altima 2.5S...same results: noisy-rough start-up. Couldn't stand it, so I installed a NAPA Select @ $4.99 after a couple weeks. Ahhh...purrs like a kitten now! Not sure why this engine does not like the SuperTech oil filter...

    76 280Z

Awesome! What a neat car! I had a '78 4speed 280z for 12 years...I still miss it. Wish I would have kept it! Always wanted to put a 5speed in it. Anyway, it burned about a 1/2 qt of oil between 3k OCI...didn't seem to matter what weight it was (I used GTX 20/50 in the summer). I agree with...
