Here's a VOA of Motul X-clean+ 5w30:

Talk about a "blah" oil.......

Where would the extra cleaning come from, thin air?

"X clean" means it doesn't clean anymore. Just like "X wife" means shes not your wife anymore. "X clean +" means it really doesn't clean anymore.

People are going to have to get used to non metallic adds not showing up via VOA's/UOA's.

Really, Blackstone? This oil was 11.03 cST, which is well below the upper limit of 12.39 cSt for a 30 weight oil.

It seems students who describe analysis results in Blackstone do not see European car specs oils to often, otherwise they would know that viscosity of these oils is usually closer to upper SAE J300 limit.
