Hi Guys,
I'm looking for much data about this oil.
All I found is quite 'weak'.

I can't access the document you linked to.

But as far as I know, this is the same oil as Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5w-40 which we have over here. You should be able to google its specs. What sort of data are you looking for exactly?

Apparently there are two products but I cant find much difference:

Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40
Shell Helix HX8 5w-40

I found this on the HX8:
http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC_X_cbe_24855_key_140003280402_20090902230_3.pdf

According to widmans calculator teh VI should be 180. No idea on the TBN.

Sorry if doesn't work - could you re-try to open it, please?
I'm interested in TBN, viscosity index, sulfated ash.
Probably, should be great to see a VOA.

OK, I can see it now. Thanks! The specs appear to be identical to Pennzoil Ultra 5w-40. See here:
http://www.pennzoil.com/documents/PENNZOILULTRAEuropean5W40.pdf

According to the VOA I did, TBN was 10.4, although I it may have been an older version of the product...
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2100590#Post2100590

We can always use another VOA if you're volunteering. smile

Looks like your M1 0w-40 specs are a bit out of date. smile

Excel sheet is updated: seems to me in the new spec there is slightly higher viscosity number at 100°C, TBN and HTHS as well.
Thx for it!

Actually, viscosity at 100C of the new M1 0w-40 has gone down from 14.3 to 13.5. It is now a light 40 weight. smile

And before that [14.3] was 14.0 cSt. Years ago I think it was 15 with an HTHS of 3.6? Now we're at 13.5 with 3.8.
