Took my Honda Odyssey in for an oil change today. I brought my own oil filter (Purolater Pure One). The service tech says that Firestone filters are going to be Purolators instead of Champion Labs. Any truth to this or is he full of sludge?

I agree with both you guys, champ filters are good. Just wondering. Of course, the person at the front counter of the shop I took my van to told me one time that switching from Synth to Dino will ruin your engine so I was obviously a bit suspicious. Learning a lot so far regarding this site. Many thanks to all!

We had a lube shop owner on the forum a while back that posted pics of the new type Champ Labs filters with holes through the media. Champ sells their cheap filters to lube shops using the Warner name on the filters--give them a big enough contract and they'll put any name of the filters.
