It all comes down to marketing. When the COT takes on the full schedule they'll be racing dump trucks with signs painted on them. Change the sign, change the number, change the driver change the brand name on the car, what's the difference? And this scoring system, what the heck is that all about? With computers and on board chips they should score place points for every lap and the winner of the race is the car with the highest points. That way they will get after each other on every lap and pit strategy will make a big difference. I'd like to see a big light on each car that is only lit up for the points leader as the race progresses and a second light for the series leader that could also change while the race is in progresses. It would sure attract the attention of the fans and the racing world in general and would improve the traveling circus called NASCAR. I'd even watch a NASCAR race to see the lights.
