Just picked up my first 18 quarts of 0502...it is definitely different...smells like varnish and is indeed Golden rather than Greenen

. I am really curious now regarding the report we have that 0504 is The Green again...this one even has the Elves confused as to what Castrol is doing...in fact, I took a picture of my little buddies

I'm telling you, the new GC stinks!!!! I tried it and it did not run well in my car. It smells different, looks different, feels different, and more importantly, runs differently. You know what they say about if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then its a duck. The new GC is definately NOT the green stuff. Why don't you try Pentosin Pentosynth 5W-40? Its on sale at ECStuning.com and my car loves it and runs really well!!!!!!! Give Pentosin a try and you won't be disappointed!!!!!

I did not do a UOA, but the car definately ran different with the new GC in it.

I've kinda been out of the loop on the GC scene lately. I may need an alternative if the M1 EP doesn't perform as advertised. So I still have an interest in the product. Here in Pensacola at least two AuotZones still have the 04 stock on the shelf and I've yet to find any of the 05 variety. I don't want to start using an oil that is not going to be available down the road, so like alot of others I guess I'll wait for the "rest of the story" before making any decisions.

now I've sniffed a lot of different lubricants in my day (no! not to get high! just to sample) and this new Golden GC smells shockingly similar to the old school Syntec of the late 90's! (the squarish, futuristic looking 4L jugs) No other oils have ever smelled quite like these. Theres also a mild stink of a dino oil in there as well
