My ram has an issue where if you are driving and hit a bump or anything unsettling at all. The trans will pop out of drive into neutral. The selector is off as well 2nd is drive D is neutral ect and park usually requires a slight amount of force to get it all the way In. My question is what could cause it to do this. Mounts are good external linkages appear ok. I'm wondering if it's in the column. I'm not real familiar with how it is set up. Has anyone had any experience with this or having these coullumns apart? Any advice is appreciated .

Can't say I've noticed that issue in the shop.... But they very well could but I haven't personally seen it

I've owned 3 dodge trucks - a 1993 D150 with 5.2L V8 and column shift auto I bought in 1993, a 2001 1500 Sport with 5.9L V8 and column shift auto I bought in 2001, and a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn with 5.7L V8 and console shift auto. Never had any shifter problem over 23 years of ownership personally.
