Speed Queen quality

I can vouch for Speed Queen durability. It's just exactly like the machine your mom had while you were growing up. Also, small capacity, and will beat your clothes all to heck if you leave it on normal settings. But last it will.

Sorry to bring up this old posting.

Late to the party. We have a Speed Queen front loader. With teenage boys, someone is always washing some sport or work related clothing or gear. You want the front loader, if the cost of water comes into play. Also, front load washers don't tear up your clothing over time like top loaders.

The bottom line: You can tell the washer is commercial grade. The first clue is it is almost double the weight of your typical Samsung or LG washer. Second clue, is the minimum of electronics on the panel to go bad - old fashioned knobs instead. This one does not "wait" to figure out how to handle out unbalanced loads - it just goes. Beginning to end takes about 35 minutes. This is even if the load is crammed full.

This is the last washer you will need to buy, kind of like the old Maytag USED to be.

The only negative I can think of, is the capacity is smaller than the jumbo front loaders from Whirlpool, LG and Samsung. However, some of them can take up to 1 hour 30 minutes + until the wash is completed.
