One of the reasons why I put Mobil1 in my Civic yesterday was because I read that it was a cleaner engine oil than the conventional type, which produces more waste and creates more sludge.

I have been looking at the UOAs that people here have posted. I'm wondering where this is borne out in them. Would it be the Insoluble count? Is there another factor in the UOA to look at?

IIRC, the insoluble measure in UOA will tell you if your air filter is leaking or is missing.

Sludge is soluble, but not so easily depending on how bad it got before the cleaning process is started.

Is there one element in the UOA report that sludge would fall under?

That's good to know about the Insoluble.
