Is castrol 0w40 euro superior to Mobil 1 0w40, or are they basically equal? Are they both capable of 7500-10,000 miles?
Nobody has data to show that Castrol 0w40 is superior to Mobil 1 0w40, they are about equal.
Both can be used for 10k miles or a little longer up to 15-16k miles, in a clean engine with non-severe driving conditions.

They are, based on the long life oil specs they both meet.
Of course, long life is not a blanket statement and relies on all kinds of stars to align.

Both the m1 0w-40 and castrol 0w-40 carry the a40 Porsche certification. So Porsche says they are equal.
One can believe one is better than the other but the truth of the matter is any m difference in formulation is irrelevant.
They are functionally equal. Buy the less expensive one
