Was using what my dad used- QSGB 5w30/10w30 and a AC Delco filter on my old 87 Cavalier

In 1999 I was driving a '94 Ford Tempo. Yeah, I know. Exotic, isn't it?! But I was bouncing between Pennzoil yellow bottle and Exxon Superflo 5w30, using a Motorcraft FL1A filter.

L8R,
Matt

1999 - Castrol 5W30with an ACDelco PF52 on my truck and Castrol 5W30 with a Motorcraft FL500S on the girlfriend's car.

Back in 99 I Still had my 87 F150 and I was running QS 4x4 synthetic blend 10w30 and whatever filter the local parts store was selling, AutoXtra IIRC.

Easy...

Castrol GTX 10W-30 / i couldn't tell you which filter for sure, most likely Purolator Classic.

Even though I was 12 I did the oil changes sometimes. My dad kept AC Delco filters and Pennzoil 10w30 for my moms 5.0 85 Caprice. For his 98 Cavalier he had Mobil 1 and AC Delco filters.

Exactly what I used back in the day. I'd try to pick up a Wix 51085 but if that was too out of the way I'd grab a L14670.

Castrol GTX 10w-40 or 20w-50 plus a blue bottle of STP Oil Treatment or maybe some Rislone through an FL-1A or PH8A in my '84 LTD 3.8l... all that viscosity and I never could quiet that lifter tick.

Back in 1999 I would have been 100% Castrol.
GTX 20W-50 mineral oil in my old cars.
Formula R 10W-60 synthetic in my new motorcycles.

Was still in school at UNC. Was driving a 94 Ranger 2wd with the 3.0 German made engine. Pretty sure I was using VWB 5w-30 with either a base Purolator or OCoD... And was doing oil changes in my gravel driveway.

I had moved away from PYB a few years earlier, and would switch up to GTX sometime in 2002.

As best I can recall, in 1999 I would have been using motorcraft syn blend and a motorcraft FL400S filter on my 1989 thunderbird.

There's a chance I would have been using up some stashed Castrol Syntec-Blend, but I'm pretty sure I had discovered the motorcraft by that time.

Remember when motorcraft was still a good deal?

That car made it to 209,000 miles on 5k oci's before I stopped driving it.

none lol I was only 8 years old in 1999. I didnt have any interest in vehicles till 2006 when I was 15 and my dad bought a brand new '06 Cummins. fast forward 9 years later im now 24 and addicted to diesel performance.

In 1999 I had a 1998 Chevy C1500 W/T with a 4.3L engine.

I used an AC Delco PF52 oil filter and IIRC I used to use Valvoline 5W-30 Synthetic.

In 1999 ? Usually Shell 15W40 oil in my ageing Mercedes 190E. Remember the yellow bottle, but not the exact designation. Wasn't into oils then...remember I had to top off often!
Once, before a long trip, I forgot to close the filler cap..made a mess, and the car reeked oil for years after that
