1992 Olds 88. Phase 1 3.8 engine with auto transmission. What should I go with?

I presume this is a Dex-Cool vehicle. That being said, I use Peak Global (Gold bottle) for top up in my Subaru when it needs any, and have been using Peak coolants for years. I'd prefer to only have 1 type of coolant for both vehicles if I can manage it.

Should I go with Global?

Regular Green?

Peak DexCool?

i use prestone green in those but you can upgrade to the go-5 always flush the system with water dont use anything more because some of those flushes are very good and will clean it up pretty good but it will leak 95%o of the time

What I'm hearing is I can't or shouldn't use the phosphate and silicate free Peak Global I use in my Subaru. Bummer.

Least the bottles look different, so they won't be easy to mix up.

If I can bump this back up, my last post wasn't answered.

Peak Green and Peak Global are both phosphate and silicate free coolants. Why is Global not a good idea for a vehicle originally equipped with green?

You should be fine with it. Just read the packaging and check the manufacturers webpage.

1992 was well before Deathcool

Your car came with the old green coolant from the factory. Peak Green, Zerex Green, Peak Global Lifetime or their new 10x are all good choices :)

I'm sure Hollow (who lasted posted in 2017) is pleased to have his question answered after 6 years...
