The durability of an aftermarket pump and pulleys depends on who built it. I have no trouble with GMB made water pumps and timing parts.

That in mind, I don't know how much they may cost. It is hard to know when the OEM parts have a higher or lower price than premium aftermarket stuff.

Thread bump, as I just ordered my parts. Thanks to the info on Aisin kits, as they seem to be a higher grade of components for not much more.

I'll be swearing in a couple weeks when I attempt it. I've done one Tbelt job on my previous Mazda and it was a DOHC (and it sucked!). This is SOHC, so I'm hoping that helps. If I have time/energy, I should check/adjust my valves too. 170k miles currently (previous owner said TB was done at ~70k)

I have GMB water pumps in both my cars. One of them has been there for quite some time and I would also recommend them.
