I am under the impression (please correct me if I am wrong)that one of the reasons you need a lead substitute in an older vehicle is to provide lubricity. Will FP60 perform this function as well? Thanks

from what I have read only tetraethyl lead or a similar chemistry will protect the valves. anything oil-like will not offer any protection due to the extreme heat and pressure on the faces.

Unless you speak of specialized esters or polymers. High molecular weight polymers and esters can actually form a multi-molecule thick cushioning surface.

Continuous deposition and burn-off of molecules (equilibrium) insure a coating to protect the seats, while not building up any interference coating.
