I have a 2002 honda 250ex with a ton of use...its gotten to the point of burning lots of oil with 10w40...I tried the 15w40 rootella and it seemed to slow a little, and it shifts smoother and runs a little quieter. Is this safe for the clutch though?
The clutch in my Vulcan was engaging kind of unevenly when I bought it. Not slipping under load but seeming to grab and let go in pulses before finally catching all the way. I suspected the oil and changed with Rotella. In less than 1,000 miles, my problem is almost gone and I suspect it will comtinue to improve with continued use.
If Rotella can fix my clutch, it is fine for bike use.
Rotella 15W-40 is excellent in my kawasaki and it has gotten nothing but positive responses from people who use it. I like the feel of the clutch better than kawasaki's own oil. You cant go wrong with it and for the money you cant beat it.
