I switch everything here to Rotella T6, I used the elf 505.01 approved oil in my VW TDI and after 120k miles pulled the valve cover and the cam shows some abnormal wear. So that approved oil thing from VW is one thing but it doesn't mean its the best out there. We buy the 45 gallon drums for the farm of t6 so 4quart for each VW tdi i have is not much. actualy my 2005 TDI PD was quieter with rotella.
My 2005 is chiped and running 20psi on the stock KP39 turbo...dint blow yet and if it does i wont blame shell did it. the turbo was made for 16psi max and not meant to be running in a rich fuel environment.
I also use rotella in my gf car. 1999 with a K14 running race injectors 24psi with water/meth injection 130k miles and running strong. forget the TDI club alot of the guys there are know it all and doesn't know to flush a toilet.
