I have a 1989 John Deere 185 lawn tractor, with a Sauer Sundstrand hydrostatic transaxle. I don't have the owners manual, and I need to know what fluid to use when I change out the hydrostatic fluid. Anybody know what they spec. for this unit? Thanks!

Call a John Deere dealer for the info.

Sauer/Sundstrand/Danfoss transaxles typically spec ATF, hydraulic fluid or 20wt motor oil. 5w20 motor oil works well in them.
