I have an ancient WRT 54GL Linksys running tomato.
The thing just keeps on running. Hence my procrastination of upgrading to a newer router.
I didn't know there was an Easy Tomato- just simpler i assume?

Not sure if modern Asus models can run Toamto or not.

According to Asus, this n56u does not have a guest SSID option. Maybe the previous poster has a different model?

Some of them can, for example: N16, N66u, AC66u.

ahh.. Thanks, QP. My targeted one, the N56u can't, I guess, but even the stock FW might be ok for my rather simple needs...
The 56u price is very attractive right now, but the real justification to upgrade remains elusive...

I have a different model. I thought mine was the same, but I have the RT-N53 instead. Good solid router. Not sure how that helps now

I have the N66U and I can attest the stock firmware is actuallyt pretty awesome. I thas tons of features. Built in DDNS server, VPN server, guest network if I needed it.
