What's in your grease gun???

Cenex, mystik, harvest king (citgo), mag1, or Deere. Depends on what we need it for and what's the cheapest. Augers and field equipment get the cheaper stuff, all the tractors and bearings get Deere or cenex.

Schaeffers 197 #1

Redline CV-2 #2

Sonic Moly Guard SL #1.5

Amsoil Synthetic Multipurpose Grease #2 (GLC)

Heh, it's funny that the Amsoil is the least capable of all my greases, and it's not even the cheapest... Ok Ok, so it edges the Sonic grease but $3.50 vs $9.50, but then it gets demolished against the $7.00 a tube #197...

What do you mean by "least capable"?

I have Lucas Red and Tacky that I use until I use the cartridge up and then it will be changed over to Amsoil.

I use Motorex Long Term grease 2000.

Available on-line or from high-line motorcycle shops.Pricey at $14 a tube.. but the best I've EVER used.

Mobil 1 Synthetic.

Normally use Valvoline but the store was out and didn't feel like driving around to find it.

Good all around grease!! I use it almost every day and never had any issues. If it sits in the gun over a long period of time it could bleed out a little, I would recommend to pull the lever out to relieve the spring tension. l

I bought several tubes of it years ago because it met specs for Fords, as well as the other car manufacturers.

In many grease varieties, you had to choose between Ford or the rest of the auto builders.

That in mind, in every shop I worked in, we used whatever grease was given to us.

I'm using Sta-Lube black moly grease. This meets the Ford specs for wheel bearing grease, but I've always used it in my GM cars after carefully cleaning out the factory grease. I've always been a sucker for Moly.
