This is a good point. Actually, most civilian victims killed by Russians in Chechnya were ethnic Russians. This is because ethnic Chechens fled Grozny and other cities and went hiding in villages with their family members. Russian civilians had nowhere to go and stayed in cities that were leveled by Russian troops.
