Pulled this off @8 months when I replaced the thermostat and oil pump bypass spring - figured while I was underneath the car it was as good a time as any for an oil change.

Put clearance STP HM 10W-40 in and an STP blue can S3675 on.

Made in the USA and nice louvers. Interesting 2 layer media.

I don't know that they're US-made any longer. I think the US-made STP filters were Champ or Purolator.

Which louvers are blocked by glue?

That's used oil.

Good job wild man...

I think this filter looks just fine.

I'd bet this one is a Purolator made Maxlife filter... And this filter did good.

Yep, date code is Purolator format.

As noted a Puro US made STP ML, not seen often here. I've seen comments that say ML a Boss clone, however the media is not the same. An unused one was posted HERE by 53' a couple years ago showing difference too.

Nice touch using the light for louvers, look good. And no noted or noticeable adbv indentions/cuts here, so adbv center not taking direct pressure from compression spring on inlet holes. Shows it can be done, not sure why not on all Puro. Filter looks like it got the job done.

Like the STP blue and XL, believe AZ has changed manufacturer and coo to China now. 6607ML on site shows that, will check to confirm though. For ~$12 regular price, unless part of some of some great AZ oil&filter promo, unlikely I'd use one.

Thanks for c&p.

I just don't care for the way it is made and for how much it costs.

I think I can get a better value elsewhere than this,

Good luck to ya

I'd buy this with STP Syn deal at Autozon and have the balls to push filter to 12k. Any takers on my proposal?

RooflessVW: filter did good, ignore the naysayers and thanks for quality pics.

Everyone has their opinion.

I'm just glad no one asked me how many miles I ran it!

How many? Looks like a lot based on the pleat distortion ... but hard to say.

No filter bypass

It's hard to say exactly. I think I put this on back in July right before my last trip, and I didn't get the car back out until after Thanksgiving - maybe 2,000 miles?

It does look like the media has had some good level of delta-p across it. Even the metal seam crimp is bent.

I told you I abuse my filters.

I still need to pick up some Purolators and cram some 15W-50 through them before it warms up.
