sbc350gearhead, I don't remember all the details but the 6.0 looks alot like the 6.0 they are putting in the trucks now, and that they called it there new V8, the 350 wasn't cutting it and the 454 won't fit and won't help out in the gas mileage department. this was low volume like only 3K to 4K max units a year, these chevy trucks were really isuzu's with chevy V8 gas instead of desiel. it may have been a low profile way for testing out the engine before bringing out to the masses. these trucks were assembled in Wisconsin, but many of the parts were from japan. you should go to africa like eygpt, there they lots of chevies trucks, but there pure Isuzu with the chevy name on them.

yes the 400 tranny was pretty good, but the 350 wasn't that great

Ya I know you can get power out of the SB 350, but you can plenty of power out almost all the old V8's the higher grade 350 weren't a bad engine, but some of the cheaper grades were soft, remember the bad cams in the 305/350's in the 70's

yes the higher end Japanese cars have better paint jobs, but that's becuase of our goverment pollution standards
