ah, Sam's Club has a sign calling for torquing each wheel, the n a second "associate" has to repeat before the first can go to the service manager with the ticket. I was curious enough to watch mine and others twice, two different stores. yep, that torque wrench gets a workout.

I was surprised that the Firestone dealer used a torque wrench on my Explorer.
As yopu said nobody does.
I've never seen anyone use a torque wrench on wheels before.

The Walley World here uses torque sticks and "double" checks with a torque wrench. But I know 2 incidents which lug nuts were not tighten to the point the tire almost came off. Again, a good system but uncaring individuals working.

Discount Tire always uses a torque wrench; company policy. The one I go to also drives your vehicle around the parking lot and pulls in front where the tech will retorque the wheels. I like that!
